Jio and Qualcomm have successfully tested the 5G service solution for India

Qualcomm Technologies
, Inc. and jio Platforms Limited (jio), together with their wholly-owned subsidiary Radisys Corporation, today announced extended efforts to develop free and interoperable interface compliant architecture-based 5G services with Virtualized RAN. These initiatives aim to accelerate the development and launch of local 5G network infrastructure and services in India.

Qualcomm Technologies and jio have announced that they have crossed the 1 Gbps milestone in the jio 5G NR service, which uses Qualcomm® 5G RAN platforms. This achievement not only supports Jio’s 5G credentials but also marks Jio and India’s entry into the Gigabit 5G NR products sector. With 5G technology, users take advantage of enhanced digital experiences across a wide range of high-speed data, low-delay communication, and connected devices, from 5G-enabled smartphones to enterprise laptops, AR / VR products to vertical IoT solutions.

Speaking on this, Matthew Ommen, president of Reliance Jio Infocomm, said, “We are excited to work with Qualcomm Technologies to develop a truly new and software-defined new generation of cloud-native 5G RAN technology. It provides the perfect combination for manufacturing and accelerating India’s achievement of the subjective. ” That said.

Durga Malladi, Senior Vice President and General Manager of 4G / 5G at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., said Qualcomm Technologies aims to provide sophisticated technology for virtualized, flexible, and interoperable 5G infrastructure across the globe. “We recently achieved the 1 Gbps milestone in the Reliance Jio 5G NR product which uses Qualcomm 5G RAN platforms.

We look forward to expanding efforts with Reliance Jio to enable flexible and scalable 5G RAN deployments. Durga Malladi said that this kind of ecosystem collaboration is crucial for operators and industry verticals to adopt 5G network coverage and capability when and where they need it.

Rajan Wagadia, Vice President and Qualcomm India President, Qualcomm India Pvt. We expect a new wave of demand for 5G services from businesses and users such as retail. We look forward to working closely with jio, known as GameChanger, to introduce advanced 5G infrastructure and services to Indian customers in order to deliver affordable and widespread 4G network coverage to its subscribers. ” That said.

Jio’s innovations have been instrumental in transforming India into the world’s largest broadband customer base. With unified and virtualized 5G NR solutions, jio is developing an ecosystem of carrier-grade software-based RAN solutions designed to enable 5G services and experiences across India and outside India.

Qualcomm 5G RAN platforms are designed to provide the foundation for flexible, virtualized, scalable, and interoperable cellular network infrastructure. These platforms support scalable support for a wide range of infrastructure segments, from large MIMO-equipped macro base stations to small cells, and support all major frequency bands in the sub-6 GHz and mmWave spectrum.
