Affordable 5G phone from Jio and Qualcomm

Additionally, Qualcomm executives are positive about the market potential of affordable 5G smartphones. It is citing data from GSMA, which indicates a reach of 2.8 billion users globally, including India. The company is also working with developers to find practical uses for 5G technology that will benefit consumers.
Recently, Jio had launched some 4G feature phones like JioPhoe and JioBharat in the country. However, the phones did not sell in the numbers the company wanted. The primary reason behind this could be that the phones are not a proper substitute for a full-fledged smartphone. Although these come with pre-installed apps like YouTube and WhatsApp, users will not be able to download more apps. With Jio 5G phones, the company is hoping to solve the problem in partnership with Qualcomm.
