Microsoft Surface Go 2 ultra-portable tablet goes official for $399

Microsoft has updated its tablet line-up with the 2020 model called the Surface Go 2. It’s bigger than the Surface Go, launched in 2018 and packs new features like bigger display, improved battery life and more storage. The Surface Go 2 supports the Active Pen and Surface Type Cover as a prequel and has a kickstand that makes it a laptop when in use. Microsoft’s Surface Go 2 is a new attempt to take the entry-level iPad, even cheaper than last year’s model. This is the best option anyway for people who want to buy Surface Pro X or Surface Pro 7 tablets cheaper.

The Microsoft Surface Go 2 costs $399.99 for the original variant. Last year’s iPad, on the other hand, was priced at 9 329 in the US. The Surface Go 2 comes in silver, starting May 12 in the US. Surface type covers come in platinum, black, poppy red and ice blue. At the time of writing, the Surface Go 2 has not been announced in India.

The new Surface Go Tablet is designed for ultra-portability, thanks to its dimensions of 245x175x8.3mm and weight of 544 grams. Microsoft Surface Go 2 comes with a 10-inch pixel display with a resolution of 1800×1200 pixels and a pixel density of 217 ppi. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Microsoft is offering two processor options on the Surface Go 2 – the Intel Pentium Gold 4425 Y or the eighth generation Intel Core M 3. The price of the tablet varies depending on the processor option. There are 4GB and 8GB of RAM options along with storage options between 64GBMC and 128GB SSD. The Surface Go 2 is said to offer up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Microsoft is offering LTE connectivity on Surface Go 2 with Bluetooth v 5.0, GPS, Wi-Fi and EasyM support. There is a USB-C port, Surface Connect port, Surface Type Cover port, MicroSDXC card reader, and a Nano-SIM card tray, and the Surface Go 2 features a 3.5mm audio jack. As it is a tablet, there are cameras as well. On the front, the Surface Go 2 has a 5-megapixel 1080p camera, while the rear is an 8-megapixel autofocus sensor that supports 1080p video recording. There are 2W Dolby Audio Premium-Tuned Stereo Speakers and Extended Dual For-Field Studio Mics.
