Realme GT 3: Everything You Know About the Upcoming Flagship Smartphone

Realme GT 3

Realme is preparing to launch Realme GT 3 to the global market soon. The company is set to announce the new high-end smartphone during its MWC 2023 event in Barcelona later this month. Well, here’s a roundup of everything we know about this device.

Design and Display

While the Realme GT 3 is not quite a high-end smartphone, it is still a flagship device with some very notable specs and design elements. For those unaware, the GT 3 model is basically a rebranded version of the GT Neo 5, so apart from the name they are identical to each other. The back features a large camera island on the back, which houses the image sensor and even a transparent panel.

This transparent panel showcases the high-end chipset that powers this device, and it is also surrounded by an LED light bar. This is RGB enabled and can produce 25 different colors. Meanwhile, the front features a tall 6.74-inch OLED display that features a 144Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming rate, 1500Hz touch sampling rate, 5,000,000:1 high contrast ratio, 1.07 billion colors, and a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels. It also houses a selfie camera with a central cut-out.

Realme GT 3 Specifications

Realme GT 3 can be considered a flagship device simply by its design and high-end hardware. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which is just half a step away from the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip that powers every ultra-high-end smartphone available in the market right now (Example: Samsung Galaxy S23 series). This chipset is likely to be paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

Realme GT 3 Battery and Charger

Notably, the GT 3 is also expected to launch in the same two charging variants as the GT Neo 5. The fast charging on this phone is undoubtedly one of its notable aspects. Therefore, the smartphone will come with support for 150W or 240W fast charging. The former is powered by a large 5,000mAh battery while the latter houses a smaller 4,600mAh battery. However, the 240W variant can charge the Realme GT 3 from 1% battery to 20% in just about 80 seconds.

Camera Setup

Realme GT 3 features a triple camera setup on the back. The primary camera is a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor that supports OIS, which is also paired with an 8MP wide-angle lens (Sony IMX355) and a 2MP macro sensor. On the other hand, the front has a 16MP selfie camera.

Launch date, expected pricing, and colors

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched the GT Neo 5 in three colors, namely black, white, and purple. Therefore, it wouldn’t be surprising if the same options returned to the global market. If the company does indeed launch two variants, the 150W version will likely start at around $370 for the 8GB + 256GB configuration. Meanwhile, the 240W variant starts at around $470 for the 16GB + 256GB model. The Realme GT 3 is set to be announced on February 28 during the Mobile World Congress 2023 event. So stay tuned for more updates.
