With the release of the Samsung Galaxy M51, the South Korean tech giant has created a rival to the mid-range smartphone OnePlus Nord, released in July earlier this year. The Samsung M51 is a decent all-rounder in the mid-range segment and could benefit from current circumstances as some consumers are looking for a phone that is not made in China amid rising tensions at the border. Let’s take a look at the two phones in detail.
Display
The Samsung M51 comes with a 6.7-inch FHD + Super AMOLED Plus Infinity O Display, which offers a 20: 9 aspect ratio with Gorilla Glass 3 Protection support.
The OnePlus Nord has a 6.44-inch AMOLED panel with the same aspect ratio as Samsung. But OnePlus outperforms Samsung by offering a 90Hz refresh rate.
processor
The Samsung M51 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor with a 2.2GHz octa-core processor, capable of running FPS games smoothly.
OnePlus Nord has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which is better than the 730G.
Camera
Both smartphones have a quad-camera setup on the back. The Samsung M51 has a 64MP primary Sony IMX 682 sensor, 12MP secondary ultra-wide lens with 123 degrees field view, 5MP portrait lens, and 5MP macro sensor.
The OnePlus Nord has a 48 MP Sony IMX 586 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 119 field-of-view, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
On the front, the Samsung M51 has a 32 MP Sony IMX 616 sensor with features like the single take and multiple p output,
The OnePlus Nord has dual cameras on the front. It has a 32MP camera paired with a Samsung M51 8MP sensor.
Battery
The Samsung M51 has a massive 7,000mAh battery, the largest ever on a smartphone. However, the massive battery takes about two hours to fully charge with 25W fast charging. On the other hand,
The OnePlus Nord has a 4,115mAh battery that supports 30W warp charging. It takes less to charge the phone completely. Also, OnePlus claims the phone can charge anywhere from 0 to 70 percent in just 30 minutes. But the larger battery life of the Samsung M51 ensures you stay away from the charging point.
Storage and price
Samsung M51 6GB + 128GB variant priced at Rs 24,999. And the 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs 26,999. OnePlus Nord has three variants. 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB, 12GB + 256GB are priced at Rs 24,999, 27,999 and 29,999 respectively.
