Xiaomi Redmi Airdots S launched, come with a low latency mode for gamers

Amidst the coronavirus epidemic, Xiaomi Redmi has released a new pair of truly wireless earphones under the Redmi brand known as the Airdots S.  Its price is 100 yuan (approx. Rs. 1,100) and is currently available in a single black color option on the company’s own website.  It has not announced any plans for device availability in global markets including India.

Key features

product include Bluetooth 5.0 support, 7.2mm drivers, IPX4 water resistance rating and 4.1g weight.  Redmi Airdots S supports smart voice assistants like Google Assistant and Siri

RealTech RTL

It is controlled by the RealTech RTL 8763 BFR chipset, which ensures good Bluetooth connectivity, active noise reduction, and enables the product to use the earphone separately.

It says that 7.2mm personal drivers can hold true to life sound with a good amount of bass.  It says you can go for a run with the IPX4 rating and don’t worry about earphones being damaged by sweat.

Battery life

The company claims that the earbuds have four hours of battery life on a single charge.  And the charging case has an additional charge of up to 12 hours, thus giving users about 16 hours of battery life.

Wireless earphones for gamers

It states that these are truly real wireless earphones for gamers to come with low-latency mode, which transmits sound from the gaming device to the earphones with low latency.  However, keep in mind that any interference will increase the latency of wireless technology at any moment.

Remember, the company launched the original Redmi Airdots about a year ago.  It sells many genuine wireless earphones under its Mi brand.
