We start by comparing our performance with some benchmark tests. In the Geekbench 6 benchmark, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro scored 1142 in the single-core test and 3119 in the multi-core test. To test the performance output under throttling, we tested both smartphones with the Burnout benchmark app. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro showed a performance output of 70.3 percent, while the Realme 12 Pro+ recorded a performance output of 76.6 percent. Taking thermal throttling into account, the Realme 12 Pro+ outperforms the Edge 50 Pro and wins the round due to its better performance output.

gaming test
To test gaming performance on both smartphones, we played BGMI for 30 minutes at the same graphical settings on each device. The gameplay experience on each smartphone was quite smooth, with no noticeable lag or frame drops. Talking about thermals, the Edge 50 Pro recorded a temperature rise of 6.2 degrees Celsius, while the Realme 12 Pro+ recorded a temperature rise of 5.6 degrees Celsius. The Realme 12 Pro+ wins, thanks to its slightly better thermal regulation.

From our tests so far, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ each come with their own unique strengths. While the Edge 50 Pro takes the lead in raw performance output, the Realme 12 Pro+ is slightly better in terms of thermal management and throttling and thus offers better output when performing under stress.
