Vivo Y51 with Snapdragon 665 SoC and 48MP rear cameras launched in India for Rs 17,990

Vivo Y51 is the company’s new mid-range smartphone launched in India. It comes as the successor to the Vivo Y50 smartphone, which was introduced earlier this year. While both phones have the same Snapdragon chipset at the core, they differ in some aspects of design, cameras, and more.

Vivo Y51 – Design and Display

The Vivo Y51 has a sleek design (8.38mm in thickness) and a 6.58-inch Duradrop Full HD + display. It is an LCD display surrounded by a 3D color gradient and matte finish. It comes in two colors: Titanium Sapphire and Crystal Symphony.

The Vivo Y51 also selects a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, shift from the rear, compared to the Wii 50. The fingerprint sensor here promises to unlock the phone in just 0.248 seconds. Also, there is a Face Unlock feature for authentication.

On the inside, the Snapdragon 665 SoC powers the Vivo Y51, which is an octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.0GHz. For graphics, the chipset is bundled with an Adreno 610 GPU. For additional optimization, the Y51 features Multi-Turbo 3.0, which reduces latency during play and handles the multitasking of applications. The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage (additionally supports up to 1TB via microSD). It shipped with the latest Android 11 based Fantouch OS 11.

The Vivo Y51 operates 51 triple rear cameras with a 48MP f / 1.79 primary sensor. There is an 8MP F2.2 Super Wide-Angle Camera and a 2MP F / 2.4 Super Macro Camera. The DudeDrop grade on the front has a 16MP f / 2.0 selfie shooter. The camera supports multiple modes, including Super Night Mode, Time-Lapse, Ultra-Stable Video, Pro Mode, Live Photo, and more.

The Y51 draws power from a large 5000mAh battery charging via USB Type-C. Battery capacity additionally supports Vivo’s 18W fast charge technology.

Lastly, other highlights of the device include an audio booster that provides a great audio experience while listening to music or watching a video. It features dual SIM slots along with a microSD slot. The device further supports Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth 5.0.
