OnePlus Nord CE4 ,Review) is now official in India, and the smartphone has a lot to offer if performance and good battery backup (with fast charging) matter to you. Although there are fewer camera sensors on smartphones this year, the company promises reliable performance thanks to the new 50MP primary sensor.

On the other end, oppo f25 pro ,Review), which is in the same segment under Rs 25,000, promises better camera performance with the selfie camera capable of 4K video recording. The smartphone also has an additional sensor, which may or may not be useful.

So, if cameras really matter to you, should you go with the OnePlus Nord CE4 or the OPPO F25 Pro? Here is a comparison.

daylight

At first glance both the pictures may look similar. A closer look reveals that the daylight image from the Nord CE4 is brighter, mainly due to the color of the clouds. However, the subject in focus, which is the fountain, appears similar in both photographs. Individual elements such as the leaves, the yellow-black border around the fountain and the walls appear almost identical.

It becomes clear that the dynamic range and details captured by the OPPO F25 Pro are better when you zoom in. Overall, photos taken by the Nord CE4 are more social media-ready, while the OPPO F25 Pro delivers more intricate details in daylight. It all depends on personal preference. My vote goes to OPPO F25 Pro.

the winner: Oppo F25 Pro

ultra wide

Both the OnePlus Nord CE4 and the OPPO F25 Pro offered color consistency even with the ultra-wide lens. Again, you'll notice that the sky looks more dramatic in the Nord CE4 image. However, details are more refined with the Oppo F25 Pro's ultrawide camera.

The OPPO F25 Pro, at least in this case, offers a slightly better field-of-view than the Nord CE4.

the winner: Oppo F25 Pro

In this case, the Nord CE4 takes a more dramatic approach with prominent shadows around the face. The overall brightness and white balance is clearly better with portrait shots from the Oppo F25 Pro.

Under natural sunlight, the Oppo F25 Pro accurately detected the subject's skin tone. However, when I took several photos under Portrait mode, neither smartphone provided uniformity in colors. Based on this photo alone, the OPPO F25 Pro makes the point.

selfie

The Oppo F25 Pro does a great job at detecting colors and facial details. Some users may also like the results of Nord CE4, so, it depends on your preference.

I chose OPPO F25 Pro for its natural treatment. Plus, the native editing tools allow me to add my favorite filters at a later stage. The selfie camera of the OPPO F25 Pro also offers a wide field-of-view.

the winner: Oppo F25 Pro

low light

Nord CE4 2 oppo 2

In low light, the OnePlus Nord CE4 automatically relies on Night Mode and there doesn't appear to be any option to adjust it. As a result, the camera sensor automatically captures more light, and the final output is brighter than usual. That's why the image here is brighter than that of the OPPO F25 Pro. There is a problem with this, but more on that in the “Night Mode” section.

Despite capturing more light, the Nord CE4 struggles to retain detail and sharpness. Software optimization also failed to remove lens flare from the image. The image captured by the OPPO F25 Pro is also not the best. Contrast and shadows are on the dominant side, causing many details to be destroyed. However, the OPPO F25 Pro retained image details and sharpness relatively better.

the winner: Oppo F25 Pro

night mode

Nord CE4 1 oppo 1

Since the OnePlus Nord's low-light shots already rely on Night Mode, enabling a dedicated “Night” mode under More Options doesn't help much. In other words, the overall brightness and color remain approximately the same.

The Oppo F25 Pro managed to capture more light, although the details aren't the best. Many details appear shaky or blurry even when zoomed in. In this case, the Nord CE4 performed better.

the winner: OnePlus Nord CE4

Decision

In our camera test, the Oppo F25 Pro emerged the winner in five out of six scenarios. In daylight, the smartphone captured more details and offered better dynamic range. The OnePlus Nord CE4 was not far behind, and in some cases, its images were perfectly social media-ready, even if the details weren't the best.

In low light, this is more or less the difference between the two smartphones and depends on whether you enable Night Mode or not. If I had to choose, I would choose the OnePlus Nord CE4 over the Oppo F25 Pro for its better performance in low light. Otherwise for selfies, the F25 Pro will not disappoint at all. On a side note, we also compared the camera performance of the Nord CE4 and nothing phone 2(a)And you can see it on our Youtube channel,

Other things to keep in mind between the Nord CE4 and OPPO F25 Pro include:

  • Overall, the UI of the camera and photos apps is more or less the same between both the smartphones. This is also due to the similarity between Android-based ColorOS and OxygenOS.
  • The Oppo F25 Pro includes a macro camera, although its results are not always the best. For close-ups, the phone offers 2x digital zoom. The same option is available on Nord CE4.
  • While the OnePlus Nord CE4 offers OIS support, the OPPO F25 Pro surprisingly offers better video stability. The Oppo smartphone also supports 4K recording through the selfie camera.
