Should you buy Redmi Note 12 4G?

At Rs 10,499, the Redmi Note 12 4G has a lot going for it. You get an FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This will deliver a crisp and intense visual experience while gaming or consuming content. The 120Hz refresh rate should offer smooth animations and transitions.

It has a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 primary camera and it should click good pictures in good daylight and adequate lighting conditions. The 16MP shooter on the front should be capable of clicking sharp selfies. There is a large 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The phone can last a whole day with normal use and when your battery runs out, the 33W adapter will top it off in no time.

While this all sounds good, the lack of 5G support is a disappointment considering the rapid adoption of the latest networks across the country. For the same Rs 10,499, you get many other 5G phones like POCO M6 5G, POCO M6 Pro 5G and others. However, even with these, there are some downgrades like the IPS panel, mediocre optics, and slow charging speeds.

The answer is obvious, if you want a good phone, the Redmi Note 12 4G is a good offering. You can get AMOLED displays, better cameras, bigger batteries, and faster charging speeds. But if 5G is your thing, you have better options, especially with the launch of the Redmi Note 13 5G around the corner.
